Jessie W. Phillips medical illustrations, 1929-1937

This collection consists of 31 original medical illustrations, most signed by Phillips; two are unsigned, and one is signed Ashnorth. Most drawings are pencil or pen and ink, undated, mounted on cardboard, with typewritten captions detailing the procedure and/or symptoms depicted. Several Seattle hospitals are named, such as Harborview, King County Hospital, and Providence. Several drawings identify Dr. P.G. Flothow on the back. Other names marked on drawings by the artist include Harcourt, Finkelstein, Donald Olsen, A. Duttrey, Gregory, McComb, F. Burnside, Pike, Mrs. Anza McLean. Subjects of the drawings include mainly spinal, leg, and abdominal surgeries.
